There are weekends away and then there are incredible weekends away.  I recently took the husband, the dog and a gang of friends to stay at Little Cottage in the beautiful Praa Sands.

At the southern edge of the country, Little Cottage sits proudly, with every vista a tribute to the coastline, a modern sugar lump of a home that creates the ideal winter break.  you can explore little cottage with sand and stone escapes here

Made entirely of glass on one side that links you directly to the elements. We all completely fell in love with the place.

The house is the holiday home of Soho House architect, Alex Michaelis and you can see elements of the London clubs in the house.  Cosy yet cool, striking yet simple.  I was completely blown away by the light and couldn’t stop taking photos.

The open plan kitchen and lounge is my idea of heaven with a sleek design and everything you could possibly need to cook up a total feast – a great excuse to not stop eating.  The living area has a huge bean bag and really cosy sofas around a log burner.  The entire wall looking onto the garden and beach is floor to ceiling windows with sliding doors. Even though it was November we were so lucky with the weather and got the burners going outside and had a drink at sunset all wrapped up in the blankets.

There are 3 double bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms with roll top baths and huge windows so you can see the sea and the sky whilst you soak - total bliss.  There is also a huge room downstairs off the den with two bunkbeds so great for groups.

Not only is the house a brilliantly considered space, executed with the ocean as it’s backdrop but dogs are also welcome to stay meaning Ted got to have the time of his life! He loved every moment here, spending hours barking at the waves from the garden before turning completely feral on the beach, (rolling in the sand was a favourite move), then finally he’d chill with us on the giant bean bag to watch the horizon showing off.

On the Saturday night after eating ourselves silly we laid on the beanbag and watched the stars – all plotting how we could stay here forever.

We finished the weekend with a walk on the deserted beach with the dog living his best life.

It was the most magical stay and there is so much more I’d like to explore next time – the hot tub, the den packed with games games plus surf lessons on the beach.

My excitement about this place still hasn’t wavered. It was the dream!!!

It was such a treat to travel from chaotic London to an oasis of calm coastline and this heavenly house. Weekends just don’t get better than this...
