introducing interior designers: studio clement
super excited to share the mood-board studio clement worked on to turn my house into my dream home! they have gone above and beyond my brief and i cant wait to see and live in the finishing touches… everything from the staircase (I mean how amazing is that, it includes a bookshelf!!!) to the tiled and oak wood flooring to the lime wash paint… feeling very lucky right now!
how beautiful are these colours? i will be spending a lot longer in the bath with a view like this! i will be sharing the links to the products and brands i have used as well as short videos of the live renovations; just incase you are in need of some interior tips or inspiration.
In the words of studio clement:
CREATING A HOME FOR YOURSELF IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY EXPRESS WHO YOU ARE. WE LOVE GETTING TO KNOW OUR CLIENTS AND HELPING THEM TO TRANSLATE THEIR PERSONAL STYLE INTO THEIR HOMES. OUR WORK IS TO UNDERSTAND THEIR WANTS, DESIRES AND NEEDS, ALL OF WHICH PLAYS A ROLE IN THE CHOICES WE MAKE WHEN DESIGNING.
AT THE HEART OF EVERY GREAT DESIGN IS A WELL THOUGHT OUT LAYOUT; THIS IS ALWAYS OUR STARTING POINT. WE THEN CREATE MOOD-BOARDS FOR EACH SPACE TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE BUILDING AND OUR CLIENTS WANTS AND NEEDS, THEN WE LAYER ON FINISHES.
IF YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT WORKING WITH AN INTERIOR DESIGNER OUR ADVICE WOULD BE: BE BOLD, DON’T BE AFRAID AND MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN... OUR JOB IS TO DO ALL THE HARD WORK BEHIND THE SCENES FOR YOU.'
don’t forget to check out their instagram: @studioclemenT, i definitely recommend their magical touch! they are the dream team.
I will be working with them in the future so will continue to share all our collaborations. watch this space!

I TRAVEL A LOT SO A WEEKEND IN LONDON IS A RARE TREAT. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE SO MUCH FREE ART AND CULTURE AVAILABLE TO US AND SOMEWHERE LIKE THE WALLACE COLLECTION ALWAYS DELIGHTS AND SURPRISES ME. FOR MY WORK I CRAVE TRIPS TO ALL THE NEW RESTAURANTS, SHOPS AND HOTELS, BUT ON A WEEKEND OFF I FIND MYSELF RETURNING TO FAMILIAR FAVOURITES; A SUNDAY AT COLUMBIA ROAD FLOWER MARKET FOLLOWED BY LUNCH AT THE MARKSMAN IS PRETTY MUCH MY PERFECT DAY OUT IN THE CAPITAL.

A trip to cornwall with the weekend journals
wishing we were back in Cornwall @scarlethotel which is a stone throw from the most incredible stretch of coastline. How I have not discovered this part of the country until now? England is full of hidden gems…
One hundred percent wishing I was still @chapelhousepz in Penzance, firstly because it’s so stunning, immaculately designed and brimming with art and antiques but secondly because it’s a stone throw from the jubilee pool.
Exploring the west side of Cornwall with @weekendjournals & @masseytravelhas been a complete dream and we couldn’t have asked for better weather! From staying at the incredible eco hotel @scarlethotel that has the most stunning ocean views and al fresco hot tubs to enjoy them, to the most incredible Italian restaurant @_appletons set in amongst stunning vineyards via the Gunard’s head for hearty gastro pub style food championing of course local produce; we’ve been entirely spoilt. I couldn’t recommend this part of the world enough!
exploring west Cornwall, picking out some of the best hotels and restaurants all recommended in the beautiful Weekend Journals guide book. We’ve had the best weather possible, clear blue skies, which have made walks on the beach, hot tubbing (with crazy vistas) and outdoor eating all the more enjoyable.

CONSCIENCE-FREE SHOPPING at one small shop
Tell us all the best bits about One Small Shop?
One Small Shop is sustainable shopping without sacrificing quality or luxury. I started the shop because I wanted to buy better but I still love nice things. We stock amazing brands who make really cool products in an ethical way. I check all the labels so you don’t have to.
I’ve got a new obsession with brands who make things out of waste. Having a gorgeous bag made out of something that would have ended up in landfill is really exciting to me. We’ve got bags made out of tyres, firehoses and old ppe workwear.
Everything we stock is vegan and cruelty-free and the skincare is all handmade in small batches using only the most natural ingredients.
2. Who should shop here?
Anyone who is trying to shop a bit more consciously. To me sustainable shopping should cover 4 areas – animal welfare, planet friendly, workers rights and customers. It should be exciting and good for you not hard and expensive. I want to make sustainable shopping easy and fun. I also want to make it accessible and our products start from £2.50.
3. 5 top tips towards more sustainable shopping?
Shop small and local whenever possible. If it needs to be posted from the other side of the world then is it really the best option?
If you’re unsure about something ask the brand – most shops will be more than happy to chat about how their items are made and if they’re not you need to wonder why. This is also a great way to make big brands more transparent
Buy less - bad advice from a shopkeeper but it’s definitely the easiest way to be more sustainable. Use magazines and social media as inspiration to have fun with what you already have rather than as a shopping must have list.
Check packaging – if it’s plastic is it recycled? Is it biodegradable or compostable and can it be recycled easily? Tell the brand if you’re unhappy with too much unnecessary packaging. I can’t believe some shops sell bamboo toothbrushes in plastic wrapping.
Don’t worry about being instagram perfect all the time – use what you already have - I have shampoo in an old water bottle in my bathroom.
4. 5 of your favourite things to gift from OSS?
I’m obsessed with Woron Underwear. Their new organic cotton range is designed with more coverage so perfect for women who never thought they could wear a soft bra. It’s all so pretty too – designed by women for women.
Swedish Stockings have the best tights and socks and they are made from 90-97% recycled materials. My new favourites are the Alma Ribbed and the Emma Leopard tights are a great way to touch on this Autumn’s trend for animal prints
I always have a Wax and Wick candle burning and they are perfect for autumn. The containers are recycled wine bottles which I love. They have 2 ingredients - essential oils and soy wax which gives them a much cleaner and slower burn - around 45 hours. Try to avoid paraffin wax in candles - you’ll be surprised by how many of the expensive brands still use it.
Mini StiTches are a gorgeous kids-wear brand and I really want this dress in my size. They are made by a charity in Tower Hamlets who work with women facing multiple disadvantage. I went to a workshop with them and they taught me how to make a top. It was amazing to see the amount of care that goes into every single item. I was so slow but they were so nice and kept blaming the machine every time I made a mistake.
No Ordinary Youth moisturiser is a lovely light day cream, the whole range is gorgeous and really balancing for your skin – perfect for skin dealing with changeable weather and central heating. Who doesn’t want No Ordinary Youth!
Our new soaps By Juliette are handmade in Hastings in small batches. Juliette is teaching me how to make soaps and skincare and her studio smells amazing with herbal and flower infusions everywhere. The packaging is plastic free and biodegradable and they’re available packaging free when I’m at the markets
5. Where can i find you?
Online at www.onesmallshop.com and every other Saturday and Sunday at Hackney Downs Vegan Market - you’ll get the best food there too. We’re on instagram too - @one_small_shop
