JUNE SO FAR… has been a crazy month with two weddings, my brother’s being one of them, two trips out to France with Eurostar and @London plus a collaboration with Grey Goose and a development project with Antonio Carluccio for Carluccio’s 🙂 and we’re only half way through! There’s no complaining here, if only life could be this brilliant, travel heavy and hectic all the time! So here’s a whole load of pics and details on a few of my favourite goings on plus a couple of Paris restaurant tips which, should you be visiting anytime soon, you have to try.
INTERLUDES BY EUROSTAR… A project whereby over thirty press and influencers had the pleasure of being taken over to Paris by @Eurostar & the guys behind @London to launch their #InterludesByEurostar project. A surprise city break is left in the very safe hands of the amazing team there. Before arriving in Paris we scoffed the hugest and most incredible breakfast by @honeyandco and @mokonutsbakery This alone was worth the early wake up! Our hotel, dinner plans and gallery visits were all pre arranged so all we had to do was turn up. Our dinner was an intimate event with eight of us round the table, being cooked for (& waited on by hand and foot) by the incredible Michelin starred chef Bertrand Grébaut whose restaurants @septimeparis, Clamato and Septime La Cave are amongst the most popular in the city – read any review!!. After being entirely wooed by seven insanely delicious courses with wine pairings (that was equally impressive) we had to show our appreciation / couldn’t wait to eat his food again and headed to Clamato for a long seafood lunch which was, as we’d expected, more than impressive and even generously catered for The Vegetarian. Post lunch we wandered the streets of Paris making our way to the Grand Palais to see the Rodin exhibition before heading back to the take the train home. It was definitely a weekend to be grateful for. Sunshine, plenty of wine and the nicest company. Eurostar will soon be making these events available to everyone to enjoy so make sure you keep an eye out!
CLAMATO– Seafood restaurant from Michelin starred chef at Septime, Bertrand Grébaut.
For any keen foodie or seafood enthusiast this modest spot is a must when visiting Paris. The best tip we were given was to arrive by 12 on the dot or by ten past, no later, as we wouldn’t get a table and it absolutely true, this restaurant fill ups more swiftly than you can imagine. Families, friends and plenty of couples pour into this laid back joint. Staff are friendly, more than accommodating, even when dining at a seafood restaurant with a vegetarian! I just couldn’t bypass trying this place out especially after having had the most incredible meal cooked by the chef himself the night before. Septime- (which isn’t open on a Sunday FYI) is top of our list for our next visit. We sample the whole globe artichoke with anchovy cream (for me) and sherry vinegar dressing for The Vegetarian. Incredible new potatoes with the creamiest of pestos and sea herbs plus the crispiest green beans and salted apricot. I get to sample the sardines and trout tartare with the crispest chardonnay. This place knows how to seduce you; the menu is exciting, unique but not fussy, the interiors follow that same ethos which makes for the most delicious meal out.
